Privacy & cookies

How we handle the data you leave when you use this website, under EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003.

Data controller

The data controller is Z-Garage Società a Responsabilità Limitata, trading as Z-Garage Auto Service, registered office at Via Francesco Gondrand 2, 46040 Solferino (MN), Italy, VAT no. 02701240208.

What data we collect

When you fill in the contact form, we collect:

  • your name;
  • your phone number;
  • the service you need or your number plate, if you enter them;
  • the text of your message, if you write one;
  • the page of the site you sent the request from;
  • your browser’s user agent, meaning the type of browser and operating system you are using.

Please do not include anything in your message that is not needed for the request, especially health data or other special categories of data.

To protect the form from spam we use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks some technical information from your browser to tell a person from an automated program.

As with any website, our hosting provider also logs some technical browsing data (for example IP address, date and time of the request, page visited) to keep the service running and secure.

Only if you give your consent, Google Analytics collects statistics about your visit: pages viewed, length of the visit, type of device and browser, approximate location and the site you came from. We look at these figures in aggregate, to understand which pages are useful and what to improve.

Why we process it and on what legal basis

We use the form data only to contact you and answer your request: a quote, a workshop appointment, information about a car for sale. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and, for anything outside that, the consent you give by sending the form (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Technical browsing data and Turnstile spam checks are based on our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Google Analytics statistics are based solely on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code), which you can withdraw at any time.

We do not use your data for newsletters or advertising, and we do not use it to profile you. Providing your data is optional, but without your name and phone number we cannot call you back.

Where it is stored and who can see it

Requests sent through the form are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., which acts as a data processor on our behalf.

If you accept statistics, that data is processed by Google Ireland Limited, also acting as a data processor on our behalf. We use Google Analytics for statistics only: advertising features are always switched off.

Cloudflare and Google may process data outside the European Union, in particular in the United States. In those cases the transfer is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which both companies have joined, and on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

Within Z-Garage, data is seen only by the people who handle customer requests. We do not sell or pass your data to third parties. We may disclose it only where required by law or by an authority.

How long we keep it

We keep requests sent through the form for 24 months, then delete them. If a request leads to work in the workshop or the purchase of a car, the necessary data becomes part of our ordinary tax and accounting records, which Italian law requires us to keep for ten years.

Google Analytics statistics are kept for a maximum of 14 months and then deleted automatically.

Your rights

Under Articles 15 to 22 of the GDPR you can ask us at any time to:

  • access your data and receive a copy;
  • correct or complete it;
  • delete it;
  • restrict its processing;
  • receive it in a machine-readable format (portability);
  • object to processing based on legitimate interest;
  • withdraw your consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew it.

To exercise these rights, write to zgarage.italia@gmail.com or to our certified email zgaragesrls@pec.it, or call us on +39 329 974 4445. We will reply within one month.

If you believe your data is not being handled lawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it), or with the authority in the EU country where you live.

Cookies

Cookies are small files that a website saves in your browser. This site uses only a few, in three groups.

Strictly necessary technical cookies, always on

They are needed for the site to work and do not require consent.

  • lingua: remembers the language you chose. Lasts 12 months.
  • consenso: remembers whether you accepted or rejected statistics, so we do not ask you on every page. Lasts 6 months, after which we ask again.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile: on pages with the contact form, checks that you are not an automated program.

Statistics cookies, only with your consent

  • Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*): count visits and page views. Last up to 2 years. The Google script loads only after you press “Accept”: if you reject or make no choice, it does not load at all. More details in Google’s privacy policy.

External services you switch on yourself

  • Google Maps. The map does not load until you press the button to show it. From then on, Google may set its own cookies.
  • WhatsApp and external links. If you open WhatsApp or a link to another site, you leave this site and the privacy policy of that service applies.

How to change your choice

You can change your mind at any time with the “Cookie settings” button at the bottom of every page, or right here. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page if the site or the law changes. The version published here is always the one that applies.
